Real Estate Station Receives 2009 Best of Argyle Award
U.S. Commerce Association’s Award Plaque Honors the Achievement
WASHINGTON D.C., June 8, 2009 — Real Estate Station has been selected for the 2009 Best of Argyle Award in the Real Estate category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).
The USCA “Best of Local Business” Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2009 USCA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.

I love our newest texting technology! It allows us to get instant leads on our listings and it also helps show our sellers who and how many people are requesting information. I especially love how it makes us stand out on listing presentations because it shows we are current on the latest technology. I’ve had several clients and potential leads comment on how impressed they are with us because we offer this service. It makes us stand out against the other agents who still believe in brochure boxes. They are about 10 years behind the tech curve.
We have recently signed a contract to have one of the most innovative tools to come to real estate in 20 years!!!!! TEXT technology!!! if you have an agent that has a flyer box on your front lawn FIRE them please for your own good!! They do not know how to market and I cannot tell you how many opportunities that they are giving away to sell your home!

New U.S. home sales surged 9.6 percent in July, rising for the fourth straight month and beating expectations as the housing market marches steadily back from its historic downturn.
The Commerce Department said Wednesday that sales rose to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 433,000 from an upwardly revised June rate of 395,000.
It was the strongest sales pace since September and exceeded the forecasts of economists surveyed by Thomson Reuters, who expected a pace of 390,000 units. The last time sales rose so dramatically was in February 2005.
The median sales price of $210,100, however, was still down 11.5 percent from $237,300 a year earlier.
There were 271,000 new homes for sale at the end of July, down more than 3 percent from May. At the current sales pace, that represents 7.5 months of supply _ the lowest since April 2007. The decline means builders have scaled back construction to the point where supply and demand are coming into balance.
Buyers, meanwhile, are rushing to take advantage of a federal tax credit that covers 10 percent of the home price, or up to $8,000 for first-time owners. Home sales must be completed by the end of November for buyers to qualify.
Builders and real estate agents are pressing Congress for that credit to be extended. If it isn’t, sales could reverse their upward trend.
The Dove Creek renovation has started! The original downstairs has been gutted, allowing a clean palate for a new, more spacious floorplan. Reorganization and efficiency of space is the focus now, with new walls being erected and concrete being poured for the updated gourmet kitchen.
Renovation will begin soon on an iconic home in the small town of Argyle, Texas. The house, built by the Kolbs in 1986 to simulate an early 1900s ranch house, has fallen into disrepair by the intermediate owner and is now being refurbished by the current owner back to its inventive ideal.
Originally this home was built to provide a beautiful backdrop for the Kolb’s collection of antiques, and then later, another section of the home was attached to provide an office for Mr. Kolb’s real estate business. This office was the original real estate agency in Argyle, and for 10 years, this house was the first stop for anyone before finding their own home in the area.
The house contains antique doors and stained glass windows collected from all over the country, as well as an old train trestle from a bridge acting as mantle pieces and porch supports. The walls and ceilings are butt-joint milled cedar and the oversized fireplace in the living room has a pot holder for cooking soups over a fire.
Coldwater Creek shot all catalogs at the farm from 1995-1999 and it was also featured in Country Gardens magazine, as well as several others, displaying the beautiful grounds and unique house.
Most of the windows have been broken out and metallic spray paint covers the gorgeous wood in the house, including the mahogany fireplace in the master bedroom. A bird sanctuary was built in the house and birds were allowed to chew on the antique wood and knock out the antique glass of the windows. Mrs. Kolb is a Texas registered Master Gardener and the once well-maintained grounds were allowed to become overgrown
The house has come full circle through the Real Estate Station. Dave Salisbury, the current owner of RES is also the owner of Hamilton Homes, the construction company set to start the classic renovation to reinstate the home as an icon of the small town’s beginnings. The restoration will be a 6-8 month project.
